Well, we survived the first week of school! You know a lot of planning goes into all of this and after the first day my husband and I looked at each other {exhausted} and said, "wow, we made it, and everything went well!" Then it dawned on us, we have to do this again tomorrow, and the next day and the next! Oh Help! ;)
First off I want to thank Krissy from 'Hot Commodity Home Decor' for spotlighting my blog this week. Go on over and check it out here.
I am slowly but surely getting the fall decor out. In fact my fall decor tote is still sitting in the middle of the living room.
My first project for this year was to do something with my fall wreath. I've had this same wreath for a few years and it was starting to look a little sad. I didn't want to invest in a new one so I decided to spruce it up a little bit and maybe add something.
To keep this budget friendly {I didn't spend a dime} I used what I had.
Here's how he started:
{The base of this wreath is a simple grapevine wreath. The leaves were found at Michaels or Hobby Lobby, I can't remember which, and tucked into the vines and reinforced with hot glue}
I warmed up my glue gone and got busy. Sometimes when you use silk flowers over time they don't lay as you would like them too so I started by gluing them down so they laid a little flatter and the leaves were more visible.
After everyone was cooperating I decided to add some decorative acorns I used last year to fill a bowl with. These guys just helped to fill some of the gaps. After this I didn't do anything else. I like the simplicity of this. And its very Fall!
Once the porch is done I will show you all of it, but that may take a few weeks! ;)
Thanks for stopping by!
