Bring on the fudge cookies!
This is my grandma Phillips recipe. She died many years ago but her yummy recipe lingers on! These cookies are the best right out of the oven with a cold glass of milk! Too bad I'm on a diet! {of course what diet wasn't meant to be broken, and if you are going to break it for something, its these cookies!}
Here's what you'll need:
Here's the recipe:
1 cup of shortning {regular or butter flavored}
1 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup of cocoa
pinch of salt
1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
2 cups of flour
Cream together the sugars and shortning. Add the eggs and vanilla and beat. Mix in salt and cocoa then add baking powder and flour. Mix until combined. Drop onto greased cookie sheets and bake in a 400 degree oven for about 10 minutes.
